The Burning Question:  Can Tubal Ligation Cause Menopause?

What do Doctors Say?

About the Coalition for Post Tubal Women (CPTwomen) - Who We Are

With proper laws in place doctors will be required to inform women of Post Tubal Syndrome.

While we were not informed, working together we can break this cycle of abuse.

This is a call for help.

To get the "Informed Consent for Tubal Ligation Bill" passed we desperately need your donations.

Please donate if you have found this site and information provided helpful or educational, if it made you pause and contemplate, or if you would like to see a tubal ligation informed consent law put in place.

  • Global PTS Health Study:  NEW Study Begins September 1, 2004
All Post Tubal Women are Invited to Pre-Register and Enroll.
  • Draft of Proposed Legislation: Modernization Act for Women's Informed Consent for Tubal Ligation and Fallopian Tube Devices for Contraception.
Sign the on-line "Petition for Passage" of this law. NEW

NOTICE:
The fallopian tube is loaded with "receptor cells" which
plays an important role in regulating your hormones.
How much of your fallopian tube was removed at the time of your Tubal Ligation?

Repeatedly we hear women stating, "I wish I had known this information before my tubal ligation..."

It was your human, civil, legal and medical RIGHT(s) to have been fully informed!
Post tubal syndrome (PTS) has been known and understood by the medical community since W.W.II, and even more so since the 70's.

Women and the public in whole are told with malicious intent and with no regard for women's health individually or as a whole that there are no known risks or negative side effects to tubal ligation (TL).   This fraud is supported by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and their members who profit, and by organizations who promote birth control for reasons of population control.

Do not confuse "birth control" with "population control".   Birth control is what we as women (and men) practice.  Population control is what governments practice.   We as a public and women in private are told by their trusted care givers that there are no long term risks or effects associated with the procedure of tubal ligation (affecting the fallopian tubes).  We  are told and it's been promoted that tubal ligation has no negative effects on women's hormonal health.   Information is withheld in order to force consent and to persuade women to be sterilized.

With any type of tubal ligation there is a risk that the TL will affect that woman's hormonal health.   A severe change in a woman's hormone health, or the castrated state of depleted hormones or sudden menopause in a young woman can greatly impact in a negative way that woman's physical and mental health. This type of health change is very serious and can greatly affect her family, work, and social life.   The effects of a depleted hormonal state can cause aggressive bone loss, and can impair rational thinking.

We believe that tubal ligations should be made a choice to women as a form of birth control but with FULL informed consent.

Our mission is to:
l Educate, inform and provide accurate information to women considering tubal ligation.
l Educate, inform, assist, and create a support network for post tubal women in their quest for
   answers and proper follow-up care.
l Bring forth the needed change which would require doctors to properly and fully inform
women prior to sterilization/tubal ligation surgery.

The Coalition for Post Tubal Women (CPTwomen) is a grassroots organization.
We need YOUR help and support!
We ask you to join the CPTwomen and actively participate in "The Campaign to Inform".

Together we can make a difference!
