Tubal Ligation/Sterilization Outcome Survey

Primary Data we are Seeking:

The Tubal Ligation/Sterilization Outcome Health Survey is a ground breaking research study that looks at health and other outcomes after female sterilization (tubal ligation, clips, Essure, etc…). It is the first and only research study of its kind which is supported by and examines first person reports by women who underwent sterilization.

All women aged 18 years or older who have undergone any type of female sterilization (surgical procedure or placement of a medical device/product on or in the fallopian tubes) are invited and encouraged to take part in this research study. The type of sterilization does not matter. Women who have had a “tubal reversal” or Essure reversal are also invited to take the survey as health and outcome after reversals are also analyzed.

The survey questionnaire consists solely of questions regarding health before and after your sterilization. Registration/cost to gain access to, contribute to, and to participate in this research study is free. There will not be any costs to you resulting from your participation in this study unless you desire to independently volunteer to gather and provide additional optional information and data (such as lab tests) at your own time and cost.

Additional (optional) Data we are Seeking:

The additional patient reported outcome (PRO data) which we are analyzing is the results of hormone and other lab tests which have been done for you prior and after your tubal ligation/sterilization. We understand that all women may not have had hormone testing done prior to or after their sterilization. That’s o.k. Our analysis of hormone and other lab results before and after sterilization is just one part of our overall research. If you do not have this information please still complete the survey questionnaire in full and if you obtain hormone or other lab information in the future you can update your data to include this information at a later time.

If you did have hormone or other lab testing anytime prior to or after your sterilization, we ask that it be included with your data for our overall analysis. If you don’t have this information but desire to independently gather and provide this information it would be done so at your own time and cost. Avenues to obtain this information would be to ask your physician to order the labs for you (in which case your insurance may pay for some or all of the cost), or to self-order the labs on your own.

For more information about direct to the customer (DTC) lab tests and pricing see: www.medlabtesting.com or order labs here.
